What a great idea! Can't believe this hasn't already been done! I know many adults that don't even know these basics! I also love the fact that it is so educational in other areas too! This book should be required reading in ALL elementary schools! Very well written, as well. The author has made everything so easy for children to understand and illustrates her points beautifully! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone with a child, even if you don't have any pets. It's just necessary information that everyone should know. Well done A.J. Richards!

I bought this book to introduce my nephew who is living with me for the next few weeks to my bichon, pumpkin. This was definitely really helpful to teach my nephew the dos and donts of dogs. He loved looking at the pictures and was able to read the whole book out loud to me!
This is a really cute and educational book for children from toddlers to pre-teens who want a dog. They'll love the story about Bella, and they'll learn about the responsibilities that come with having a Bichon Frise at the same time! I loved the illustrations, too.
What a wonderful concept! My two daughters are just getting to that age where they are begging us to adopt a puppy. My husband and I have had animals growing up, but we wanted to help our kids to understand the responsibility that is involved with caring for a new puppy. We have been reading blogs about bichon frises and came across this adorable little book that is absolutely perfect! The writing is clean and grammatically well done, which I totally appreciate. The tone is approachable and educational for the kids, without being too childish, which my older daughter can appreciate, and the illustrations are really beautiful! I absolutely recommend this as a starter book for families thinking about adopting a new puppy!
